How to read a lagna without turning it into fate

The lagna is the sign rising on the eastern horizon. In a whole-sign chart it becomes the first house, and every other sign falls in order from there. Change the clock by a few minutes near a sign boundary and the entire map of houses turns. This is why a guessed birth time is not a small error.

The lagna is read as the conditions of a life: the body, the way a person enters a room, the questions that repeat. The Moon is the mind. The Sun is the vitality and, often, the father or the public role. Confusing these three is how a chart gets turned into fate.

If the time is unknown, say so. A sunrise chart is an honest substitute for some questions and a poor one for others. The note should say which is which. A time is not invented to flatter a hoped-for story.
